We all love to look back over our wedding day and one very popular way to do that is storybook wedding photography. This gives couples the chance to create the story of their special day in a single book with beautiful photos. You can use reportage photos to add more depth to the storybook album, with feature shots and group photos adding different layers to the story.

These are a few of the photos to add to your storybook wedding album:

As the bride you will need some pictures taken when you are getting ready prior to the wedding. You may wish for pictures of your dress hanging up and ready to go, your wedding shoes and your bouquet. You could get pictures of your hair and makeup being done, a close up or back view of your finished hairstyle, getting into your gown, and your veil being placed on your head.

The hour before the wedding is an optimal time to get the bridesmaids’ pictures taken individually, especially if you chose younger bridesmaids that might get restless by the end of the ceremony. You can also have pictures taken with your maid of honour, your bridesmaids, and your parents. Ensure you have some photos of you and your father getting into the wedding car.

Prior to the ceremony beginning you might want some reportage shots of the guests arriving and a few photos of the inside and outside of the wedding venue. Ensure there are a few pictures of the groom and best man waiting for your arrival.

You will need a few pictures of your procession down the aisle, the groom’s reaction, your father handing you over to your groom, and the entire bridal party following you down the aisle. Necessary ceremony pictures include the changing of the rings, the reciting of the vows, the moment you are announced as husband and wife, your first kiss as newlyweds, and the signing of the register.

Finally you will need pictures of your recessional, you both standing outside the venue, guests tossing confetti or blowing wedding bubbles, your guests departing the ceremony, and you and your husband in the wedding car. A wedding ceremony is full of touching moments to capture on film.
