It can be tough choosing the right wedding venue, but Libby Scurrell and Rob Wright had a little friend with a wet nose to help them decide.
The pair, aged 29 and 28 respectively, had been hunting for the perfect spot for their vintage winter wedding on December 11, 2015. There had been several options, but many either lacked accommodation or indoor facilities – a definite no for a colder climate.
“We searched for lots of different hotels and decided on Ox Pasture Hall after visiting with our little dog Frank,” explains Libby. “During a discussion with Ox Pastures’ wedding facilitator, Frank curled up on the sofa in the snug and went to sleep.” And the decision was made – this is where the wedding should be held.
But Frank’s job wasn’t done, as Libby explains, he was a constant feature throughout the day. “He was one of the last to go to bed,” she laughs.
The couple had 60 guests for their ceremony and 110 at the reception. They honeymooned in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
