Romance got off to a soggy start for Solihull couple Becci and Joe.
“On our third date in January 2016 I fell head first in to a canal. We then trudged home,
freezing and soggy, but already a little in love,” Becci, 23, recalls with a laugh.
“From that point on we both kind of knew that this was forever.”
A little over two years later and Joe, 28, got down on one knee atop the Eiffel Tower.
The crisp days and falling leaves of October inspired the couple’s autumn wedding.
“We wanted to create a day that was uniquely ours, and uniquely memorable for all of our guests,” Becci says.
The couple wed at St Peter Ad Vincula in Hampton Lucy on October 20, 2018 before a crowd of about 200 friends and family.
The celebrations continued at the nearby Alveston Pastures Farm. The couple put their own stamp on the reception with unique touches including a pick ‘n mix cereal bar inspired by Cereal Killer Cafe.
“We dressed the venue ourselves with a bit of an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ autumn theme. There were lots of edible decorations including pebbles,” Becci says.
“We poured our hearts in to every decision and looking back we wouldn’t change a thing.”

Becci tried on 10 dresses before returning to the second one she tried – an embellished strapless gown from The Dressing Rooms.
“We bought our gorgeous dried flowers three months before the wedding,” Becci says of the bouquets and boutonnières. “It not only removed one small stress from the big day, but also added so much to the autumnal vibe. Also it means we can keep them forever!”
Becci and Joe’s perfect day was captured by Capture Events. “Amy was amazing to work with before, and on the day, very competent, confident, yet humble and thoughtful about our day,” Becci says. “We are so happy with the photos and would highly recommend her to anyone.”
“This was the the start of a new chapter in The Adventures of Becci and Joe. Since then, the adventures have only continued,” the bride says of her autumn wedding.
