Kathryn Talbot jokes that her wedding to Chris James was like an episode of Don’t Tell The Bride.
Chris organised much of the wedding himself and, on the morning of the big day, he prepared the rustic barn and gardens where the couple would wed.
“I had no idea what would be in store for me before my arrival,” Kath says. “It was our very own episode of Don’t Tell The Bride.”
After two and a half years together, Chris had proposed on what Kath thought was just a regular weekend dog-walk in the Brecon Beacons. After another two years and having a beautiful baby daughter together, they began planning their rustic wedding.
On August 29, 2015, 100 close friends and family descended on Lyde Court in Hereford for the wedding celebrations.
Kath looked stunning in a lace gown from Timeless Elegance, complemented by her bridesmaids in ivory Alfred Sung dresses from High Society.
The couple was blessed with sunshine for the outdoor ceremony, with the wedding breakfast following at the venue’s historic rustic barn. The bride says running out of Jagermeister was the day’s only hitch!
And Kath’s advice for future brides is simple: “Trust the groom!”
“Chris planned the majority of the wedding and there wasn’t a single thing I would change,” Kath says.

Kathryn’s ‘something blue’: these strappy blue satin heels from Kurt Geiger.
Kath savoured the long walk through Lyde Court’s grounds as singer/songwriter Jemma Krysa sang her version of Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea.”
Chris donned an Italian three-piece suit from Dyfed Menswear with a floral tie.
Francis Floral Designs provided lanterns, hessian runners and table arrangements for the rustic theme.
