Tractor rides and toasted marshmallows: Couple celebrate bohemian barn wedding

When 28-year-old James proposed to girlfriend Ashleigh, his favourite song, Everglow by Coldplay, was playing in the background.

It ended up being their first dance song at their bohemian barn wedding on September 8, 2018 with 85 guests in Norfolk. “Our priorities when planning our wedding had to be all the little details, and making all of our guests feel really involved in the whole day,” Ashleigh, 27, says of the planning process. They opted for a “clean” colour palette of whites and greens.

“We are a very laid-back couple so we wanted the day to be chilled and just have fun,” smiles Ashleigh. “That’s exactly what we did. We had our very own tractor ride, which our guests took full advantage of, and fire pits with marshmallows to toast in the evening.”

Her advice for other brides and grooms-to-be is to stick to your guns, invest in a great photographer and videographer and make sure you get a few minutes alone as husband and wife! “People still talk about our wedding as one of the best they’ve been to,” recalls Ashleigh.

“Our wedding photos were just perfect. Lorna is so professional and makes you feel at ease,” says the bride.

“Our video was one of the best things we agreed to do,” says Ashleigh. “It brings a whole new dynamic to the day and is great to watch everyone back on that day.”

Guests were gifted Sambuca shots with a ‘Drink Me’ tag as favours.
