Tessa & Ben’s picture-perfect cocktail wedding

Ben Mitchell was already head over heels for Tessa Lee from the moment he met her. How else do you explain him agreeing to see a chick flick on the first date?

“Ben must have liked me as he was happy to see Bridget Jones’s Diary 2 at the movies,” Tessa, 29, jokes.

After a decade together and sharing many of the highs and lows of life, Ben, also 29, proposed at Victoria’s Arthur’s Seat.

The smitten Rosebud couple were keen to keep their special day on the Mornington Peninsula and opted to wed at Sorrento’s St John’s Anglican Church on February 1, 2014, in front of 110 friends and family.

“The amazing sandstone building with antique interior was a breathtaking way to become husband and wife,” Tessa remembers.

After touring a number of reception venues in the area, Ben and Tessa stumbled on Whispering Vines Café at Trofeo Estate, Dromana, and knew it was perfect for them.

The cocktail wedding offered some fantastic food and, of course, some amazing wine.

“We stayed true to ourselves, and did it our way,” Tessa says of their special day.
