After five years as an item, Romualdas took Sigita to the seaside and asked her to be his wife.
As the pair originates from Lithuania, it took some time to decide whether to host a traditional wedding, travel abroad and elope, or exchange vows alone in their new hometown, London.
“We decided we wanted to celebrate love with our family and friends, so we organised our party in London. A majority of them had to come from Lithuania and for some of them, it was their first time here. They got to witness our love and visit beautiful London as well,” explains the bride.
Despite it being Sigita’s childhood dream to marry in the summer, she says she will never regret their decision to wed on December 15, 2018. 20 guests attended the winter celebration, beginning with a ceremony at Greenwich Town Hall and ending with a reception at The Clarendon Hotel in London.
“December is a perfect time of the year. Even though our day was rainy and gloomy, the atmosphere that evening was very relaxed, warm and intimate. There were candles, flowers and Christmas crackers.
“We shared stories about how we all met, played games, danced and even did a quiz about how well we know each other as a couple and how well our guests know us. To us, it was perfect and just how we imagined it to be. No stress, just love, happiness and a lot of laughter.”

The pair, now aged 29 and 28, first met through a mutual friend in Lithuania.
The newlyweds had their wedding photos taken at Greenwich Park and Greenwich Market.
