It was a blessing in disguise Shani and Daniel were both so bad at biology in school – they were sat together for that very reason.
“From that moment on, we didn’t get very much work done,” laughs Shani. The pair, aged 26 and 27 respectively, married 10 years later at their modern country wedding. A ceremony at St James Church was followed by a reception at The Cotswold House, Chipping Campden on July 21, 2018 with 100 guests.
“We tried to keep the wedding and the decor low key … but still with a classic, pretty feel to it,” says Shani. “We had lots of fairy lights and candles everywhere to create a nice warm glow, but the venue spoke for itself so we didn’t have to bring in too many other decorations.”
The couple put a lot of energy into personal touches including making the centre pieces, wedding guest book and polaroid timelines themselves. “”It was so rewarding to see how it all came together beautifully on the day,” says the bride.
They opted for a barbecue rather than a traditional three-course meal, and sourced everything from local suppliers and small businesses. “It was an amazing feeling knowing that we had supported our local communities with the wedding,” smiles Shani.

“Having planned our wedding for five years, it was the best feeling in the world seeing it all come together just the way we imagined with our loved ones,” describes Shani.
“There were moments throughout the day when we both stood together and looked around at everyone. It was such a lovely feeling watching our family and friends enjoying themselves and we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out,” beams the bride.
“The day was captured so beautifully by Katie, and each picture tells the story of our day so well,” the couple says of their photographer.
“We really had planned and dreamed of our day for so long, it was such a wonderful feeling to see it all come together and we will treasure the memories and the magic for the rest of our lives,” smiles Shani.
