With the aim of creating a relaxed party vibe, a hog roast and Moroccan tagine was the ideal catering for Sarah and Chris’ rustic bohemian wedding.
The pair married on April 28, 2018 at The Old Barn at The Milky Way in North Devon, inviting 86 guests. “A lot of our friends and family are into their ales so we had a beer barrow with a selection to choose from,” explains Sarah, 35.
The bride says the ceremony was very informal, held within the vine-covered conservatory. “Drinks and nibbles were outside in the sunshine with prosecco and the beer,” she recalls. “The speeches and meal were in the old barn with food served buffet style and wine provided by us, to help keep costs down.”
The couple decorated the barn with lots of foliage, fairy lights, candles and home-made wooden signs to add their own style. “Another priority was entertainment. What could be more unique and memorable than dodgem cars? We knew this would be a talking point for our guests for a long time.”

“I loved the options this boutique had including separates which could be mixed to create the perfect look I wanted,” says the bride of her gown.
“Chris, 38, wore a grey herringbone three-piece suit along with a green polka dot tie and home-made (by myself) feather button hole,” describes the bride.
“Emma’s natural style of photography was exactly what we wanted,” says Sarah of their photographer.
Sarah opted for a flower crown over a veil.
“We are very fortunate to have a friend as a DJ so we asked him to look after the music for the evening,” smiles Sarah.
