Rose and Lee Jefford were determined to inject some fun into their wedding day.
The couple from Essex describe themselves as “chilled out” and were adamant not to let the seriousness of the occasion weigh them down in stress and worry.
“We planned all of it together…,” says Rose, 30 “I think we were both terrified of becoming bride/groomzillas!”
After a proposal on Brighton Pier on their fourth anniversary, Rose and Lee, 29, wed on July 10, 2015 at Gaynes Park Barns, Epping.
The venue’s Orangery was an idyllic location for the couple’s ceremony which, as a fun tribute to their Friday nuptials, concluded with The Cure’s unusually upbeat hit, “Friday I’m in Love.”
Gaynes Park’s Mill Barn held the laid-back reception for 150 guests, with its soaring oak-beamed ceilings decked out with fairy lights for the occasion.
A “wicked” magician, live band and “awesome” DJ kept energy levels high.
“The wedding day was exactly how we wanted it to be,” Rose says. “We loved it and our family and friends loved it, so that’s good enough for us.”

Rose put a glam spin on the traditional wedding gown with this intricate beaded number, complete with elegant train and paired with sandals.
“The day was fun, chilled, with plenty of food, drink, family and friends,” Rose recalls.
The bridesmaids graced multi-way wrap gowns from Two Birds Bridesmaids, each styled to suit their individual shape.
Blackboards edged in driftwood added a rustic touch to the reception decorations.
