A common birthday got the conversation flowing between Rebecca Bickley and Alex Smith.
The couple, aged 24 and 28 respectively, knew one another just in passing until social media showed them they shared the same birthday. “We had lots in common however finding time to see each other was hard as Alex worked away most of the week and we eventually lost contact,” explains Rebecca. But, a year later they reconnected and have been “inseparable ever since,” says the bride.
Alex didn’t want to waste any more time, so nine months later he proposed and they were married at their country wedding on March 27, 2016 with 100 guests. Their country-chic theme was met with 1920s glamour and found the perfect home at Hampton Manor. “Hampton Manor is a stunning 19th-century manor house and was former home and estate of Sir Robert Peel, Chief of Police,” says Rebecca.
The historic manor boasts a stunning ceremony room with large white chandeliers and red carpet. Simply Flowers assisted with the reception décor in the conservatory which was a vision of hydrangeas and roses. Scattered tea lights and crystals created that romantic feel.

Highly Strung String Quartet provided the beautiful instrumental music including Etta James’ At Last for Rebecca’s entrance.
Rebecca’s Enzoani gown was a mermaid silhouette design embellished with crystals and pearls – from The Dressing Rooms.
“It was like watching our day unfold from someone else’s eyes,” says Rebecca of Catherine Bradley‘s beautiful photography.
