A low-key proposal led the relaxed wedding of 30-year-old Lucy and Nick at Goldstone Hall in Shropshire.
“We got engaged in the flat we rented in London, the first place we’ve ever lived together,” recalls Nick. “It was super low key but perfect for us, Lucy was wearing her pyjamas while I got down on one knee! She immediately burst into tears – and then said yes thankfully.”
The couple being located thousands of kilometres apart made planning the September 22, 2018 day a little tricky, but they made the most of opportunities they had together. Lucy was in the UK while Nick was in Kenya for work. “When we were in the same country we ended up choosing all of our suppliers in the space of a couple of months. The limited timing really helped concentrate our minds,” explains Nick.
The couple, despite being a bit nervous about having their photo taken, were over the moon with their images. “Katie was brilliant, her photography style is natural and we absolutely loved our snaps – they are such a good memory of the day and beautifully capture us having the best day with our friends and family,” says Lucy.

“Goldstone is one of the most beautiful venues we’ve ever seen,” says the groom.
“The day will go really quick, so make sure to try and stay in the moment and don’t worry too much about what’s coming next,” says Nick.
“Lucy and Nick were a little nervous about having their photographs taken so having a little bit of a joke around during portraits helped them relax,” recalls photographer Katie.
“Lucy and Nick were just beautiful humans, so lovely and relaxed and not scared of a bit of drizzle when it came to portrait time,” explains Katie.
