From one jaw-dropping setting to another, Bolton Wanderers fan, Oliver Syddall, has wowed loved ones with some incredible views.
Oliver first met Lara Crombie in the local pub and after charming his way into a date, would later propose on the 27th floor of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, in its aptly-named Skyview Bar. “Once we were seated in our window seat with a view over Dubai… Oli proposed,” says Lara, 36. “It was a fantastic surprise.”
Fast forward to May 1, 2015 and the Bolton pair, along with 62 guests, would be enjoying an altogether different view at their Macron Stadium wedding. Their nuptials, held at the stadium’s Whites Hotel included an awe-inspiring vista of the pitch below, leading into lots of unique and meaningful photo opportunities in and around the grounds.
An elegantly styled reception at the Brookfield Masonic Hall followed, with 140 guests joining them for the evening celebrations. “We wanted our day to be relaxed with all the people we love and care about,” says Lara.
This generosity shone through in donations to The Christie as the couple’s wedding favours. “We both have close relations that have had to attend Christies and wanted to give a little back to say thank you,” explains the bride.
And despite Lara saying she was a “bag of nerves at the ceremony,” her advice to other couples: “Don’t sweat the small stuff – and relax!”
Once it was over, the couple headed back to where it all began – Dubai – to soak up more amazing views on their honeymoon.

Oliver and his groomsmen were dressed in classic navy suits from Slaters.
Lara was dressed in a Farage Paris gown from Swarbricks Bridal; an elegant gold, one-shoulder design. “I spotted it and didn’t want any other dress,” she says.
Arranged by Wild and Wondrous, Lara’s bouquet included vibrant orange poppies.
