Paulina and Gavin brought the best of Mexico and Scotland together in riverside London for their informal spring wedding.
The London couple are not fans of being the centre of attention and Paulina, 38, says a relaxed day with their nearest and dearest was exactly what they were after.
Paulina and Gavin, 35, met through their love of rowing, they were friends for a while, but that soon turned into something more.
“We got engaged in some vineyards in Porto, very relaxed proposal, not fussy at all,” Paulina says.
The pair wed at York House in Richmond on April 22, 2017 in front of 50 guests. Celebrations followed at Richmond pub Tap on the Line.
“Our wedding was very much like both of us, a relaxed day in a pub,” Paulina says.
“We were able to get lots of details though that represented our Mexican and Scottish background, from the Mexican Tenango wedding invitations to Scottish thistles and fudge.
“We had numerous other nudges to Scotland and Mexico throughout the day so our families would know we’re never too far from home. And doing it in a pub was the perfect way to celebrate the life we’ve both chosen to start in England.”

Gavin stayed true to his roots and dressed in traditional Scottish attire for the big day.
“Everyone had an amazing time and were blown away by the small and big things – it was an informal, personal wedding and in my view, the best day ever,” Paulina says of the big day.
After getting all her girlfriends together to help decide, Paulina chose a simple lace gown with cap sleeves.
“I wouldn’t change a thing about our day. I would say to anyone planning a wedding to take your time finding your suppliers – cake, flowers, stylist, photographer, make-up – and make sure you like them and genuinely get on with them. They made my day stress-free and without these amazing people my day wouldn’t have happened,” Paulina says.
