Kate Riley and Simon Marcus gave their classic wedding a quirky twist to bring plenty of fun to their big day.
The London pair held their superhero wedding on July 22 at Castle House, Brympton d’Evercy, Somerset, which Kate, 37, says resembles a church but was suitable for their civil ceremony.
Younger guests were dressed to impress in superhero costumes and after the ceremony the 120 guests enjoyed good times on the terrace with space hoppers, giant Connect 4 and inflatable superhero wrestling.
Celebrations continued at Brympton House’s The Stables venue where a classic cake with a superhero emblem on each of the layers took pride of place in the great hall.
“Our wedding represented how we hope our marriage will be: full of fun, love, laughter and, of course, Superman!” Kate says.
“The theme perfectly intertwined the beauty of tradition with the quirky aspects of our personalities on the most magical day of our lives.”

“Our meeting is the old classic; boy sees girl, girl sees boy, they both swipe right. Tinder was our matchmaker,” Kate says with tongue firmly in cheek!
“‘I love the way he can make me laugh and how he brings fun and adventure into my life,” Kate says of Simon.
The couple injected some fun into their wedding cake with a superhero motif on each layer.
There was a different spin on lawn games with this super-fun and superhero-themed sumo wrestling.
