Some people are superstitious when it comes to dates which can guide the day that will become their wedding anniversary.
For Michelle and Ross, it wasn’t so much worrying about black cats and ladders, but marrying on a lucky number. “With 23 being Ross’ favourite number, it was a no-brainer, we just had to get married on the 23rd. We set about looking which date had a Saturday 23rd and there it was: Saturday 23, September 2017 – our wedding date which gave us a good 18 months to plan,” explains the bride.
The pair, aged 29 and 31 respectively, had met years earlier at a local nightclub and “hit if off straight away”. Both jokers, they say they love to take the mick out of one another. Their furbaby Coco rules the roost at home – a property they bought together after four years as a couple.
A ceremony and reception at The Coniston Hotel & Country Estate in Skipton hosted 89 guests for their classic wedding. “We wanted to keep things elegant and classic with a personal touch,” Michelle says of their décor. “I wanted everyone to feel involved and special.”

The bride chose an elegant pair of Jimmy Choo heels.
The couple even had a personalised aisle for their ceremony!
Michelle paired her cross-back Mori Lee gown with floor length navy evening gowns from Veromia for her bridesmaids.
Ross proposed on a holiday in Jamaica after the couple had been together for seven years.
Michelle says their day was “stress free”.
The Coniston Hotel is set on 1,400 acres of countryside and is just seven miles from Skipton, North Yorkshire.
