Suzanne Carr and Billy Smith had their first date in 1999, but didn’t catch up for their second until a decade later.
The Warrington, Cheshire pair shared their first kiss on the dancefloor of a local nightclub but lost contact soon after. Their lives crossed paths many times after, before Suzanne, 35, and Billy, 39, finally reconnected via Facebook.
“It makes me smile when I think back to how it all began,” says Suzanne. “Where would we be without Facebook?”
Things moved fairly quickly after that – purchasing their first home together and welcoming a baby son all within 18 months of their second date – before setting the day for their romantic wedding.
The couple wed at Somerset’s Almonry Barn on July 3, 2015.
Bride Suzanne did much of the styling for the big day herself, including her unique gown from Suzanne Neville, paired with blue Louboutin heels.
Suzanne combined the skirt of one dress and the bodice of another for her bespoke gown. “Even now looking back there is nothing, nothing at all that I would change about my dress,” she says.
The couple are also thrilled with their choice of venue. “One of the features we loved about Almonry Barn was the fact that we could have our ceremony and reception all in the same venue,” Suzanne says.

“My beautiful blue satin sling-back Louboutins were my something blue, they were a little on the high side so I also had a pair of Badgley Mischka ‘Mitzi’ crystal embedded evening shoes for the night time,” says Suzanne.
Suzanne spent time selecting a signature scent for the wedding, “something that would always remind me of that perfect day,” she says.
Billy and his groomsmen were dapper in three-piece suits.
“I have always loved the boho style headdresses and this was the perfect opportunity for one!” says Suzanne who sourced the beautiful adornment from Australia.
“Our cake was a decadent 10-tier coconut sponge with vanilla buttercream, decorated with wild berries,” describes Suzanne of the naked cake by Kitchen.
