Laura and Andrew, both 23, quickly settled on Inkersall Grange Farm for their rustic homemade wedding, with three tipis set out on private land boasting fairy lights, hay bales and a fire pit.
“As well as a relaxed venue, we also knew that we didn’t want a lot of the traditions that usually come with a wedding, like a sit-down meal or first dance,” explains Laura. “Instead we opted for a picnic style barbecue, made our own playlists and ordered in some casino tables with personalised pretend money for evening entertainment.”
Photographer Rhi Schothbrook says the tipi was a fantastic feature of the May 13, 2017 wedding. “It created a really warm and welcoming ambience that matched perfectly with the rustic details Andrew and Laura and handmade and dotted all around the venue,” she said. “They had everything covered from personalised welcome signs as you approached the venue, to tree trunk and mason jar centrepieces for the tables, it was truly beautiful.”
She said the couple were “really organic” to photograph. “They were relaxed, easy-going and full of joy throughout the entire day, which made my job so easy when it came to taking natural photographs of them.”

The couple sourced their wedding rings from GoldSmiths – who have been around since 1778!
A cloudy day created a nice setting for the couple’s outdoor photos.
“We had two casino tables and a selfie mirror for our evening entertainment,” says the bride.
“The tablecloths were made by Andrew’s mum, as was the bunting and a giant arch that was covered in peonies and foliage for the ceremony to be held under,” smiles Laura.
“We decided on a whole cake table instead of one wedding cake. We had a naked wedding cake, cake pops, brownies and cupcakes,” explains Laura.
