A traditional celebration in their village church gave Alexandra Hazlewood and Jake Oliveira the classic wedding of their dreams.
Alexandra, 31, and Jake, 32, agree that the ceremony at Tingewick Church, Buckinghamshire was the highlight of their rustic wedding.
“We were both so nervous on the day but as soon as I walked in the church and saw Jake at the front I immediately felt calm,” she says.
“The ceremony was our favourite part of the day as it just felt so amazing to have everyone you care about in one space at one time.”
Eighty friends and family gathered in the church for the ceremony on August 9 2014, before the celebrations continued at The Georgian Rectory in Adstock.
“We had a marquee set up in the beautiful grounds, filled with the most amazing smelling flowers, and haybales, crotcheted blankets and garden games outside,” Alexandra says.
“The sun stayed shining all day, which was perfect for everyone to mill around outside, eating canapes and drinking copious amounts of prosecco!”
The couple decorated the venue using items from charity shops, vintage finds and DIY hessian table runners and wooden sign posts.
“We just wanted it to be unique to us and really reflect our personalities and what we’re about,” Alexandra says.
