Katie and Ferg describe their woodland wedding in Kent as pure joy.
“We were surrounded by all the people who we love and love us,” Katie, 29, says of their August 19, 2017 wedding.
The London couple, who met at university, returned home to Kent for their woodland wedding, celebrated with 180 friends and family.
Katie and Ferg, also 29, wed at St Laurence’s Church, Hawkhurst, before the celebrations continued in a marquee at the family home nearby.
Guests enjoyed drinks by the pool to the tune of a steel band and then the reception officially got under way in the beautifully-decorated marquee.
Hanging candles and lanterns and plenty of greenery added to the woodland feel.
Katie says it was a perfect celebration.
“Nothing beats good food, wine, friends, family and music. I wouldn’t want to do it all again as I wouldn’t change a thing,” she says.
For photographer Elizabeth Holt, it was the little details and candid shots of guests that helped make the day special.
“The flowers were absolutely stunning, especially in the marquee so for the detail shots I was in my absolute element,” Elizabeth says.
“Everyone was so friendly towards myself and my assistant, friends and family were lovely. It was a pleasure to shoot Katie and Ferg’s wedding.”

Katie sourced her gown from a Spanish designer, adding flower details and modifying the back to make it the perfect dress for her.
Flowers were an important element on the day to create the couple’s rustic, woodland theme. “They were bright and natural with lots of greenery to create mystical effect,” Katie says.
Even the couple’s cake stuck to the woodland theme, the delicious four-tier creation was created by the bride’s sister – a chef.
