Guests at Kate Baker and Darren Adams’ wedding were front of mind for the couple who made it a special day for them too.
The Bristol locals met through scuba diving and were engaged right before a getaway to Cornwall (Darren couldn’t wait to pop the question!) Five years later the pair married in a winter woodland wedding on January 23, 2016.
Even though it was the day of their dreams, it was the bride and groom’s 80 guests who were in for a treat. After the ceremony and photos at Berwick Lodge, guests found their table seating with a special gift by The Cakery Bakery. “We had little log place settings, with our guests’ names burnt into the wood, which also had magnets on the back,” describes Kate.
And if you’re shying away from a photobooth for your day, why not consider this alternative entertainment? Ian from Parody Portraits made his way around the room also that night, creating personal caricatures “It was the highlight for a lot of people, and was very funny looking at all the funny faces he drew,” smiles Kate.
Kate says Berwick Lodge was the dream spot for a winter event. “It’s like a secret hidden gem, full of beautiful finishings, wonderful glass chandeliers and cosy log fires,” she praises.

Kate’s gold and ivory gown with gorgeous detail was found at Romantica of Devon.
“We have been friends for 15 years, together for eight. Our friends have always told us we were meant to be,” says Kate.
There’s nothing like sunset to create some amazing photos.
“Listen to your vendors, you may be surprised what they can do that will blow all expectations,” says Kate.
