Six weeks before Georgina, 27, and Steven, 29, were due to leave for their Hawaiian holiday, it became a more important trip than they had planned for.
“We were both just talking and he randomly told me ‘I’d marry you’ and I replied ‘I’d marry you too’, and from there we decided to do it in Hawaii,” explains Georgina of the spontaneous plans. “We decided to keep it to ourselves, only tell our parents and no-one else, and to elope when we were over there.”
The Middlesbrough pair married on Palauea Beach at their Hawaii elopement on August 6, 2018 with just the two of them.
“Because there was no proposal, my husband planned the entire thing himself and I didn’t know a single detail, not even when the wedding was,” laughs the bride. “He booked someone to do my hair and make-up as he knows how useless I am.”
From there Steve took her to a beautiful beach in Maui, where a photographer, videographer and a musician were waiting. “The next few moments were some of the most surreal and genuinely happy moments of my life,” recalls Georgina.

Steven planned the whole wedding in under six weeks.
“My dress was £24 … it was actually meant to be a bikini cover-up but it worked well for the beach themed wedding,” says Georgina.
“We spent the rest of the holiday enjoying what felt like a wedding-honeymoon combo exploring Maui’s beautiful waterfalls, jungles and beaches,” smiles Georgina.
“When we revealed it to everyone we know, we had nothing but support,” says the bride. “They all understood the wedding for us was never about the big day, but just marrying someone we love.”
“I’m writing this married to someone who I haven’t even known two years, but when you know, you truly do know,” beams the bride.
