Judith Baird and David Gibson’s gorgeous vintage wedding was a decade in the making.
But before the pair were officially introduced by mutual friends at age 16, there was a whole other chapter to their love story – they’d actually attended the same primary school.
“David denies even remembering me… [but] we had our first photo taken together in P1 during our school nativity,” recalls Judy, 26.
When their lives crossed paths years later Judy says she fell in love with David almost instantly. “Although we were only 16, I knew I would marry him,” she smiles. “We became very serious about each other very quickly.”
David, 27, proposed after they had been dating for six years and the Bangor, Northern Ireland pair waited until their 10-year anniversary on April 29, 2015 to walk down the aisle.
The long-term lovers wed at the small church located at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Belfast, in front of 100 guests.
“The church itself had all its original features including beautiful bare stone floors, long wooden pews and huge windows,” Judy says.
Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued at La Mon Hotel and Country Club, where Catch 22 Wedding Band and Disco provided the entertainment.
“The day was over in the blink of an eye but we can honestly say we’d do it all again in a heartbeat,” Judy says.

Judy stunned in a Perfect Day Bridal princess-cut gown with a lace cap sleeved top that she removed after the ceremony and replaced with shoulder straps.
Love is sweet for Judy and David, who met through mutual friends when they were still at school.
