“They were constantly smiling and genuinely so happy to be in each other’s presence.”
Photographer Dominic Lemoine says 30-year-old Philippa and 31-year-old James were a joy to capture – the perfect subjects for his photo-journalistic style. They married at their classical hexagon wedding at Davenport House in Bridgnorth, West Midlands. “The venue was simple and elegant, as soon as we saw it we fell in love and booked the same day,” says Philippa.
Seventy guests attended the November 18, 2018 celebration – a date chosen for its alignment to their engagement. “We chose the date because I liked the symmetry, but also it meant that on the anniversary of our engagement we would wake up a married couple,” smiles the bride.
The main theme was inspired by a shape. “I love hexagons!” laughs Philippa. “My engagement ring is a hexagon and that influenced the whole wedding.” There was also a hexagon wedding sign, invites and personalised coasters as wedding favours.
“But I think the biggest, most important thing for us was for our guests to be well fed and have a boogie on the dance floor,” says the bride.

Philippa’s gown featured stunning lace and a cap sleeve.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better day and that is down to the guests, amazing food, outstanding music and a simply stunning venue,” says the bride.
