Jennifer never really believed in fate, but her meeting with love of her life Gary changed all that.
They had met on a boozy night out in Middlesbrough seven years ago, but she gave him the wrong number. Luckily, they bumped in to one another by chance a week later! Five years on, 34-year-old Gary proposed to 28-year-old Jennifer.
“After two years of planning, ideas, appointments and making things the day had arrived,” explains the bride. “I spent the whole two years being quite chilled out about the day itself. ‘It is what it is’ I told myself.”
They married with 70 day guests and 90 in the evening on September 8, 2018 at Danby Castle in Whitby, North Yorkshire.
“The morning flew by and before I knew it, my hair and make-up was done, and I was getting in my dress,” says Jennifer. “Now I started to freak out! Two years’ worth of stress and nerves hit me all at once.”
But she needn’t have worried, because even crying her way up the aisle, as soon as she laid eyes on Gary, calmness came. “All the nerves went and I have never felt happier than I did in that moment.”

“I wore a strapless princess gown which I got from Bridal Rogue Gallery in Harrogate, with a bespoke bolero they made just perfectly for me,” explains the bride.
“I let my bridesmaids chose their own dress, shoes and accessories,” says Jennifer.
“From making table decorations to me altering the bridesmaid dresses, I’m really going to miss the evenings and weekends of wedmin,” smiles the bride.
“After our pie and mash wedding breakfast, Gary, his best man (my brother) and my dad made some hilarious speeches and I finished off with a few words of my own,” says Jennifer.
