Despite Emma and Simon’s meticulous wedding planning, Mother Nature had plans of her own.
Emma, 26, says the week leading up to the wedding was the worst she’s ever had. “Our wedding week was when snow storm Emma – typical! – was set to hit the UK.”
The Carmarthen couple had booked their elegant classic wedding at Nanteos Mansion in Ceredigion, Wales, and were due to meet with their registrar the Friday before the wedding.
“We woke up on Friday to messages saying the snow storm was really bad and the roads were closed in Aberystwyth. We decided to make our way up anyway, as I knew if we didn’t meet with the registrar there wouldn’t be a wedding,” Emma says.
Luckily, Emma and Simon, 32, made it safely to Wales in time and plans resumed.
On March 3, 2018, the pair tied the knot in front of 49 day guests and 120 evening guests.
“Despite the weather, we had the most magical day. Given the circumstances, we were luck to even have a wedding day. Unfortunately one guest wasn’t able to make the day, and a few guests didn’t make the evening party.
“I can safely say that I will never forget the run up to the wedding.”

Emma says she found her stunning Mori Lee gown after trying on eight dresses to no avail. “Vanessa, the shop owner of Cariad Bridal, asked me to try on the dress. I felt and looked like a princess.”
To complete the look, Emma pair the gown with a stunning floor-length veil from Huw Rees Brides.
Simon and his groomsmen perfectly fit the classic theme in black tuxedos and leather shoes from Dyfed Menswear.
“Once I walked into Nanteos Mansion I instantly fell in love with the grand chandeliers. I instantly knew I wanted to get married there. I actually booked the venue without Simon even seeing it.”
