Vicki, 28, and Tom, 27, married on July 27, 2018 amidst a heatwave to remember.
“One of the best elements of the day was having all our guests outside enjoying the sunshine, our amazing acoustic singer and our popsicle-cocktail canapes,” recalls bride Vicki. The pair had 150 guests attend their relaxed rustic wedding at Notley Tythe Barn in Buckinghamshire.
“We were very relaxed in our wedding planning from the off, as our shared dream was an informal, big gathering of family and friends,” explains the bride. “We were easy-going throughout the process, picking up items and ideas as we saw them. Tom was meticulous in our budgeting.”
The opted for a muted mint green and peach colour scheme, but ultimately let the the 17th century barn speak for itself. “Fairy lights and candles complemented the pastel floral arrangements from Wild Orchid,” says Vicki. “My dress had a stunning peach tone in its underskirt.”
In place of favours, the couple included donations to Cancer Research. “We also set the tables with a sprig of eucalyptus and personalised sweets,” says Vicki.

“I loved how the peach undertones complimented my hair and skin tone, and the intricacy of the lace bodice,” Vicki says of her gown.
“For Tom and his groomsmen, we continued with the relaxed atmosphere with suits from Next which could be worn again – I love it when Tom puts on his wedding suit for other events as it reminds me of our perfect day!” smiles the bride.
THe bride walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Ed Sheeran’s Hearts Don’t Break Around Here.
“We have had so many compliments on our wedding photos and gorgeous album, they really capture the beauty and atmosphere of the day with lots of colour and depth,” Vicki says of their photographer.
“Our cake was made for us as a wedding gift by my uncle, which made it all the more special,” praises Vicki.
“Our whole day had the atmosphere of a summer garden party and was exactly what we dreamed of,” recalls Vicki.
