Just like they were certain they were the one for each other, Christie and Gary were certain they wanted a destination wedding.
The couple, both aged 32, married at their Spanish boho wedding on the island of Mallorca on September 7, 2017. The pair have been together since they were just 17, waiting 14 long years to finally say “I do”. “We wanted our love of travel and our desire to embrace other cultures to shine through and it really set the tone for what was truly the best day of our lives,” she smiles.
They decided on Mallorca for its close proximity to the UK so guests could easily travel to the location. “We chose the gorgeous Finca Son Bosch, a rustic Spanish venue which is over 700 years old, surrounded by beautiful scenery – vibrant coloured flowers set against the Tramuntana Mountains.” Chrisite said there were so many options but they couldn’t get Finca Son Bosch out of their minds.
Christie admits planning a destination wedding had its challenges, but overall it made the day extra special. “The celebrations felt extended and we were able to enjoy long family dinners, cocktails with our friends and beach fun with all our nearest and dearest,” smiles the bride. “By the time the wedding day came around we had already spent quality time with all of our guests so on the wedding day itself we could just relax and enjoy everyone’s company.”

“The Guess bracelet was given to me on the morning of the wedding by my sister, my maid of honour, and my diamond necklace was a gift from my husband – again on the morning of the wedding,” explains Christie of her last-minute accessories.
“We waited 14 years to marry each other. That’s a long time but boy, was it worth it,” smiles the bride.
“We visited Mallorca a year prior to the date we set for the wedding to take a look around the venues,” recalls the bride.
“One of the main benefits of having a destination wedding is how the majority of our guests stayed out in Mallorca with us for almost a week,” says Christie.
Almost 50 guests made the journey for the affair which the bride describes as “unbelievably beautiful and picturesque”.
