Aussies Ashlee and Liam fled the English summer to marry back home in Melbourne, Australia.
The couple who live in London, were returning home to renew their visas and contemplated how to fill in the time they had Down Under. “We got to chatting about what to do with three weeks in Australia and decided to finally do it – finally get married.”
With just three months to plan, it was quite the challenge for the bride and groom, both aged 31. “We planned the whole things over email and Easy Weddings was a lifeline for us,” smiles the bride. “To have a directory of so many things in one place made it so, so much easier.”
They married on June 16, 2018, with 80 guests at Noisy Rituals Urban Winery in East Brunswick. In true Australiania style, the bride’s mum and aunty went around to neighbors in regional Victoria to gather eucalyptus leaves, gum nuts, hakea and pampas grass for florals on the big day. “With a small trip to the South Melbourne markets the day before the wedding we got kangaroo paw, protea and waratahs to add to them,” smiles Ashlee.
As for their UK connections, they played an important role in … dessert! “Liam’s dad and one of our closest friends from the UK worked together the night before the wedding to create us a two-tiered two flavored cake – my fave lemon on the bottom and Liam’s fave caramel on the top.”

Ashlee’s stunning gown featured beautiful sleeve detailing and a red sash.
“We’ve lived and shared everything together for so long, so marriage for us was about exchanging vows in front of loved ones,” says the bride.
“Our photographer Jave Lee was the standout immediately,” says Ashlee. “His prompt responses, gentle relaxed nature and brilliant candid shots were the perfect combination.”
“He truly is my soulmate,” says Ashlee. “We’re polar opposites and yet we fit.”
“Incredible things are possible when your support system comes together and delivers the magic,” praises the bride.
