A Brazilian woman searching for her birth mother has discovered that she is married to her own brother.
Adriana and her husband Leandro met seven years ago and have a six-year-old daughter together.
Both have searched all their lives for their birth mother and, all they each knew was that their birth mother’s name was Maria, which they thought was a coincidence as Maria is such a common name in Brazil.
Desperate to find her mother, Adriana recently appeared on popular radio show The Time is Now, which brings lost relatives together.
When she and her mother were finally reunited on air, Adriana’s mother told her she also abandoned a son named Leandro.
As the conversation progressed, it quickly became evident that Maria’s Leandro is also Adriana’s Leandro.
In other words, Adriana is married to her biological brother.
Adriana, 39, and Leandro, 37, confirm they will remain together, saying “Only death is going to separate us,” Adriana said after the interview. “Of course it would have been different if we had known this all before, but we didn’t and we fell in love.”
