Lacey and Aaron Chaus’ wedding was one the Dowager Countess would be oh-so proud of. The New York-based couple held their dream wedding at Highclear Castle, aka Downton Abbey, and it was utterly dreamy, perfectly romantic and very, very traditional.
Despite the availability of many dozens of spectacular wedding venues in their hometown, Lacey, an interior designer and her hubby-to-be, Aaron, wanted to hold a destination wedding and, once the decision to hold their wedding overseas was made, there really was only one choice: Downton Abbey.
The historic venue, whose roots are thought to date back 1300 years, proved the perfect backdrop for the couple’s most special of days, a back tie affair that took place on June 6, 2014.
Aaron and Lacey were married in the mansion’s main hall, which was made famous as the backdrop for so many dramatic events in the hit TV series. Afterwards, guests were served cocktails in the sprawling gardens and dinner was served in the house’s book-lined library.
