Even two fractured legs and a month-long stay in hospital weren’t enough to stop Indian couple Prethush and Rekha walking – or perhaps that should that be wheeling – down the aisle last Sunday.
Groom Prethush found himself undergoing two major surgeries after he was involved in a serious car accident last month and, for a time, it looked as though his eagerly awaited nuptials were to be postponed.
However, when hospital authorities got wind of their story (and Rekha’s distress) they rushed to support the couple and even converted a whole floor of the hopsital into a wedding venue so they could stick to their original plans.
Dressed in his wedding finery, the groom was wheeled up the aisle and the ceremony was witnessesd by family and friends, as well as hospital staff and his fellow patients, all of whom burst into cheers and applause when the ceremony was over.
Unfortunately, Prethush must spend one more week in hospital before going home to his new bride, but what’s one week when you have a lifetime to spend together?
