Helping plan her sister Kate’s wedding to Prince William last year obviously left a mark on Pippa Middleton who has quit her job in the hopes of working as a full-time wedding planner.
According to London’s Daily Mail, Pippa wants to spend her days planning other couples’ nuptials.
The newspaper quotes a “friend” who said, “Pippa helped with the Royal Wedding and weddings don’t get much bigger than that.”
“‘She is keen to move into party planning for society wedding receptions – it would be perfect for her. She would go down a storm in America, where they are obsessed with royalty and they have a stronger wedding planner industry.”
Aside from helping plan her big sister Kate’s wedding reception at Clarence House, Pippa recently organised the catering for her friend Camilla Hook’s wedding. Hook married Lord Attenborough’s grandson Sam Holland in Scotland recently and her efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
She helped out more than people realised with the preparation and even handed out bacon sandwiches at the end of the reception,” adds the friend. ‘It was suggested to her by friends that she could make a living out of it.’
Of course, she’s had years in the party planning industry. The Middleton clan, millionaires in their own right, made their money running Party Pieces, a UK-based mail-order company that sells party supplies online.
Pippa’s younger brother James, too, runs his own cake accessories business, The Cake Kit Company and Pippa herself has a new event planning book, to be called Celebrate, coming out later this year.
Pippa current runs The Party Times, an online party news website affiliated with Party Pieces, so she should have no trouble starting her own wedding planning business.
