Despite being deployed thousands of miles from his home in Texas, one enterprising US pilot found a most unique (and pretty darn cool) way to ensure he could send his brother and new sister-in-law well wishes on their wedding day.
He filmed the speech he would have given – from the cockpit of a Harrier fighter jet as it made its way over the skies of Afghanistan.
The touching video shows the un-named pilot reading slides to the newlyweds, Brandon and Mandy, and was shown during the speeches at their wedding reception last week.
“My brother was deployed in Afghanistan during my wedding this past weekend,” says Brandon on YouTube, where he uploaded the video, “So, he surprised us with this very heartfelt video he made from the cockpit of his harrier.
“Needless to say, it brought everyone to tears.”
Brandon’s brother, starts the 2.5-minute mid-air video saying, “Brandon and Mandy, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the both of you.
“This is a day that you will remember for the rest of your lives and I wish I could be there to share it with you.”
Brandon also posted the video on news and entertainment aggregation site reddit, adding, “Everyone in the room was either crying or completely speechless. It was a very moving moment for everyone there.”
