I have to share this story with you all…
I have found my venue! After all our searching we have found the perfect place for us! It is beautiful, elegant, but also quite rustic! The gardens are perfect for photos and it has beautiful waterfalls and rivers. The best thing for us is we can have our ceremony and reception at the same place.
We can either get married in the chapel or the gardens and there are so many photo opportunities, we will not need to go anywhere else. Behind the bridal party table is a waterfall – how’s that for a backdrop! Potters Receptions – I am so in love! We looked at so many places and this was perfect for us.
They have rooms to get ready in which are absolutely stunning and we can stay the night after the wedding. The staff were so accommodating, they even let me come back another 2 more times to show my parents and best friend around.
As I have mentioned before my sister and I are getting married 3 months apart so for us to be planning at the same time means we have a lot of the same thoughts, but we also want our weddings to be unique to the other.
My sister is getting married on the beach and reception is in St Kilda – so beach wedding. I am getting married in Warrandyte so it’s more of a garden feel wedding. So our weddings locations are so different, but yet we both love each other’s! This was really important to me when choosing a venue, to have something different to my sisters as they are so close together, but not jeopardise my vision for my wedding venue.
So get this, after I booked my reception venue, my Mum was cleaning out my Grandma’s draw and came across a business card for Potters from I have no idea when! I thought that is it – fate!
I have it in my purse and I think it’s so cute that my Grandma kept after so many years an original business card from the place I am getting married! It must be at least 20 years old as its no longer called Potters cottage, its called Potters Receptions and the contact number doesnt have a 9 in front of it, so must be from some time ago.
So cute and that will go in my Planning Folder to hand down to my children.
Now – Venue down! Time to start planning this wedding!
