If I thought my dress went through a million evolutions – my wedding flowers went through more! I am not a huge fan of cut flowers – I’d prefer a pot plant!
But it is a wedding I could hardly walk down the aisle with a terracotta pot of roses! I started out looking at lilies, orchids, dahlias, peonies, frangipanis, the list goes on and on.
There were some bouquets I liked but not enough to have for the wedding. I came across another blog’s post about using Australian native flora to make up a bouquet and loved the idea but I still wasn’t sure.
What I didn’t love was the price tag of wedding bouquets – even though the natives would last longer than a regular bunch of blooms, I didn’t feel like I could justify the cost. My biggest challenge during the whole planning process has been to find things within our budget but that are still of a decent quality – there are somethings you can’t compromise on because you do get what you pay for.
So I’m still thinking about the flowers…Do I really need them? Do I even really want them?
