Remember this ah-may-zing Lego wedding cake, which came complete with edible bricks, that was doing the social media rounds a few weeks ago? So overwhelming has been the response to the cake’s colourful and innovative design, the company that created it, London-based Cupcakes by SJ, has been inundated with orders from across the globe that, it says, “are not possible to fulfill.”
The original post was placed on Cupcakes by SJ’s Facebook page on June 8 with the caption: My talented Father does it again with a special creation for my cousins wedding, though I did make the edible Lego bricks.
Since then, it has been liked by a whopping 146,000+ people; it has been shared more than 73,000 times and it has received more than 18,000 comments and the bakery has finally responded.
“As an answer to most people’s questions, I am based in SE London and unable to deliver outside of this area,” they wrote on Facebook. “We are a family who love to bake and create cakes for family, friends and friends of friends.
“We do not have a shop or website or any other form of pictures other than those on this page, which was created at the request of friends purely to see what we’d been creating.
“While all requests are seriously considered, I had no idea one picture would create the reaction and influx that it has in the last 2 days and am sorry that many requests are not possible to fulfil.
“I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your kind comments, likes and shares it is completely mind blowing and left my parents and I lost for words.”
We, too, are lost for words – at their utter awesomeness!
