Considering taking your lashes to the next level for your wedding day? A lot of brides decide to give their lashes some extra special attention leading up to their wedding. But the same treatment isn’t right for every single person. Here is a breakdown of three popular methods for making your lashes stand out on your wedding day.
Lash lift:
A lash lift is the least dramatic of the three options. A more natural look. Combined with a lash tint, it gives a little more effect. The best part about a lash lift is that you won’t feel a thing after your service. Lash lifts/tints are a great option for those with flat lashes, light coloured lashes and those who lash curlers don’t really work for. Think of it like a perm for your lashes! You go into the salon, they glue your lashes down to a silicone shield (there are different sizes of these), you have a quick lash nap (amirite ladies?!) while the lash artist applies a perming solution to your lashes and you wait for a short time for the solution to do its thing! Overall, it’s a quicker process than lash extensions and is usually cheaper as well.
Lash extensions:
Lash extensions definitely give you a bit of extra va-va-voom. You will wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and think “damn gurl”, without makeup. It’s great for a vacation as you will look great with less effort on your behalf. But getting a full set of lash extensions is a time-consuming process (you will almost definitely nap), and can be quite expensive. But again, they look amazing…. and there are so many options to choose from, whether you want a more natural look, a glam look, a full volume look, whatever. You can have your lashes tailored to suit your face! You can choose the number of individual lashes, the length, the curl of the lashes, everything! The downsides some people face is that this is a very time-consuming process in terms of upkeep, as the lashes fall out with your natural lashes, so you do need to return for infills just like you would with your nails, BUT if you’re just getting these for your wedding or honeymoon this is hardly an issue! Another is that some people who touch their face or rub their eyes a lot may find lash extensions irritating, but it’s something you get used to.
False lashes:
Arguably the most popular option is to get your MUA to apply a set of false eyelashes when she does your makeup. Generally, MUA’s prefer this option as they are 100% in control of the look and can ensure you get exactly what you want and what you both practiced in the trial and they don’t have to interfere with your lash extensions. But ultimately, it’s up to you if you want extensions or not so they will work with what you have either way.
