Details are finally emerging about Justin Timberlake’s European wedding and, by all accounts, the word ‘magical’ best describes the event.
Popstar Timberlake married actress Jessica Biel at the exclusive Italian resort of Borgo Egnazia last weekend and events kicked off with JT serenading his bride-to-be with a song he penned especially for their big day, as she walked down the aisle.
“That definitely started the tears,” Biel told People magazine. “Not just for me, either. For pretty much everyone who was there!”
Timberlake, 31, added: “I figured if there was something I was going to be able to offer, it would be to sing her down the aisle. Grown men were weeping. Hopefully it’s because I didn’t sound bad.” Erm, not possible, JT!
Biel, 30, admitted she had a small case of ‘butterflies’ as her father, Jon, took her hand and walked her towards Justin.
“I was about to stand up in front of my friends and family and bare my soul for the person I love. It was terribly emotional,” said Jess.
“I felt calm,” she added. “I thought, ‘I got this. We got this.'”
Biel’s wedding gown, a stunning, strapless pink gown by Giambattista Valli, was complemented by her simple bouquet of ranunculus, chamomile and ruscus, all topped off with a matching, pale pink veil. JT opted for a Tom Ford tuxedo.
He says the nuptials, reported to have cost about $6.5 million, were a ‘total fantasy’, adding that Jessica, in her beautiful dress, was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.’
It’s no wonder the first official shot of the newlyweds (pictured left) shows JT, jumping for joy! It’s just one of a range of photos from the couple’s big day that appear exclusively in this week’s People magazine, for which the mag paid $300,000.
Friends and family were flown to Italy via private jet and guests included Adam Sandberg, Timbaland and Jimmy Fallon.
“To hear all of our family and friends cheering at extremely loud, inappropriate decibel levels, that became the pinnacle of the ceremony,” said Justin. “It felt perfect. It felt like everything came together.”
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before tucking into a four-course meal. The newlyweds joined their guests on the dancefloor with celebrations wrapping up around 5am.
