Rooms With A View
Nestled in the manicured estate, each of the function rooms have the benefit of attractive French doors, large windows and conservatory style ceilings to let the outside in. Even indoors, you feel fully immersed in the picturesque environment, with immediate views of the verdant croquet lawns and tennis courts. Its openness and quiet jovial atmosphere likens the Georgian manor to a remote country club. The spacious setting is totally unique and a rare find amongst the compacted residential areas of South West London.
The Hurlingham Club has been a fully operating private members club since for 150 years. Therefore, it is steeped in heritage and tradition with ‘members-only’ rooms that cannot be used for events. However, attached to the East Wing are four remarkable rooms can be hired Monday to Saturday and after 6pm on a Sunday. They can all be rented on an exclusive basis, as the interconnected ‘Hurlingham Suite’, or rooms can be hired individually. Find more information on the interiors and capacities below.
Palm Court and The Broomhouse Room
200 ceremony and 200 dinner
The centrepiece of the club is the spectacular Palm Court. Its open plan design is longer than it is wide, which makes it perfect for creating a whimsical aisle and ceremony set up. Undoubtedly, the high glass arched ceiling is the highlight feature here. It pours natural light into the room and provides ample opportunities for flattering photography. The trees sway above, filtering a romantic dappled light into the space. At any time of year, the roof changes with the seasons, reflecting the pastel blooms of spring, the bright botanicals of summer, shades of gold and bronze in Autumn or a wintry snow dome in winter.
Adjoined to Palm Court is the spacious Broomhouse Room, which can accommodate up to 200 people for a seated wedding breakfast. You can pull the retractable partition wall across during the ceremony, to create an element of surprise as for the dining room is revealed. Both Palm Court and The Broomhouse Room also have direct access to the grounds and the Fountain Terrace for outdoor drinks if the weather permits. The striking sphere water feature makes a focal point for a beautiful drinks reception after the excitement of the ceremony.
The Terrace and Quadrangle Room
100 ceremony and 100 dinner
Also in the East Wing, you’ll find the beautiful Terrace Room, which runs along the garden walk with floor-to-ceiling length windows. The large mirrored walls add another attractive feature and they give the impression of the space being double the size. The room is decorated with subtle yellow and pale green walls, with dainty trellis fixtures. Along with the wrought iron pillars and the conservatory extension, the Terrace Room feels like an Italian inner garden or orangery.
As the bride and groom walk back down the aisle to the applause of the elated guests, they can smoothly exit onto the lawns for photos and then into the Quadrangle Room, where the wedding breakfast will be laid for an enticing three course meal. The large symmetrical room ensures that all guests are fairly close to the top table and the numerous French doors allow guests to use the patio as a break out space or smoking area.
