If you’re after a truly novel gift for your hubby-to-be, this very sweet idea is hard to beat.
It was what craft-loving Kelly (aka OneTomatoTwo) created for her beau, Bill, for one of their anniversaries a few years ago.
Kelly, who’s from Northern California, turned a deck of 52 playing cards into this rather amazing little gift, a pocket-sized flipbook of all the things she adores about Bill.
“I made this for Bill a few years ago on our anniversary,” says Kelly on her blog, Trans-craft-inental, where she discusses all things crafty with a fellow blogger on America’s East Coast.
“Unfortunately, I can’t remember where I originally got the idea for this, so I can’t give credit where it’s due.
“Meanwhile, I believe that the one that I originally saw was far fancier than mine. Mine is just a deck of cards, held together with binder rings.”
With Bill in mind, Kelly typed out the first 52 things about him that popped into her head and printed them out.
She then ran each card through a sticker maker before punching holes in the sides of the cards and then bound them all together with binder rings (the 1-inch size).
The front and back of the book was “laminated” using her sticker maker (so it wan’t “real” lamination), but it did the job!
“It was tough to stop at just 52,” says Kelly proudly, “My man is awesome! So I just wrote down the first 52 and went with those. Perhaps I should make a sequel?”
