Breaking up with someone via text is never a nice thing to do – but accompanying that message with a list of reasons for the break-up is even worse.
Thankfully, the Sydney-based recipient of the text message above wasn’t too offended. After all, she’d only been dating the unnamed texter for seven weeks but, apparently, that was enough time for him to come to some pretty firm conclusions about his rightful place in her life so, when she attended a weekend wedding with someone other than the bloke who sent the text, he’d had enough.
He dumped her, via text message, no less, but he couldn’t let it go without ensuring she understood fully why he felt the need to leave and, so, he sent her his six chortle-inducing reasons.
In utter amusement, the dumpee, known only as Bobo, forwarded the break-up text to a friend, Sydney based Amy Nelmes, who subsequently posted it on Twitter – and, naturally, its sheer ridiculousness ensured it went viral. Seriously viral.
At the time of writing, it had been retweeted more than 18,000 times and favourited a whopping 25,000 times.
“My friend just sent me this break-up message she received after 7 weeks of dating. My fav reason for split is #3,” Amy Tweeted.
It reads: You are rude to my cat and that makes me feel uncomfortable.
We hope he enjoys his cat’s company because he’s going to have plenty of time to enjoy it!
Next time, we hope he opts for a simple ‘It’s not you, it’s me!’
