Rowheath Pavilion was opened by the Cadbury family in July 1924 as a changing facility and clubhouse for the many acres of sports playing fields, the bowling greens, the fishing lake and lido. The Pavilion also hosted elaborate balls and dinners, and the whole area was designed for the benefit of the Cadbury workers and their families. It was a place to meet, to relax, to stay healthy and to enjoy some free time together, at the heart of a lively community.
As a bustling community centre in the heart of Bournville we strive to offer as much as possible to our local community living in Bournville, Kings Norton, Stirchley, Cotteridge and the other surrounding areas. With a thriving community cafe, children’s playground and The Rowan Tree community pub, Rowheath Pavilion is the perfect place to relax and have fun with friends and family.
We frequently conduct surveys to see what the local community needs and strive to provide that. Our lovely children’s playground provides a safe and fun environment to bring the kids to whilst you can relax and enjoy the home-made cakes and lunches in our affordable cafe. In recent years we have worked hard to provide some wonderful community events such as our monthly Bournville Farmers’ Market, Vintage and Craft Fayre’s, Jumble Sales, children activities in the school holidays and the famous Giant Easter Egg Hunt.
