Forty Hall is a Grade 1 listed Jacobean Manor House, nestled in leafy Enfield and set amidst pleasure gardens, ancient royal parkland, majestic trees, lakes and watercourses.
With a range of visual and audio interpretation and displays there are ample ways for all of the family to engage with learning about the Hall in an enjoyable way.
A range of guided tours are also on offer at the Hall, led by a Jacobean character, to add value to your visit and further your understanding of the Hall’s history.
The Great Hall is perfect for weddings, small civil ceremonies, dinners, luncheons and drink receptions. The room is available to hire either individually or collectively as part of the Ground Floor suite of rooms.
Located on the ground floor of the Hall, the Great Hall is one of the most opulent and highly decorated of the rooms boasting an exquisite fireplace as its focal point. In the 1600s guests would have been received in the Great Hall and its sole purpose was to impress – a tradition that continues today.
We had our wedding here in May and it was incredible. Abbie and the wonderful staff made our day so perfect. The organisation was almost impeccable. We had 130 guests who were attended to and looked after very well. The food was delicious and any special requirements were noted and provided. The grounds itself is stunning with a beautiful lake full of friendly geese and ducks and the gardens were in full bloom. The estate near the banqueting hall is a historic piece of beauty and a great setting for photographs.
