The Grubstreet Author is inspired by the cultural happenings of yesteryear. The street on which it is located was once a hub of bohemian writers and industrial print houses, hence its quirky quill pen logo highlighted throughout. The Grubstreet Author has its own private entrance separate to The Brewery that leads down into an assortment of rooms all included in the hire fee, including a remastered vintage cinema called The Cutting Room. Its warm inviting atmosphere has 48 fixed velvet seats facing a 98 inch screen. It's a fun retro space that could be utilised as a reception space or even a kids creche area to play their favourite films.
The central space is The Sample Room, a trendy bar with Herringbone flooring, pink velvet chairs and other stylish stand out furniture. The surround sound and immersive LED lighting gives the room an instant social ambience. The room was formerly a drinks lab, where all the latest alcoholic concoctions were tried and tested, so it’s the perfect place to stop, sip and stay awhile.
Next door is The Pasteur Room, an attractive dining area for up to 66 guests. The elegant decor marries beautifully with the industrial hints such as the tin tiled roof. The French chemist, Louis Pasteur, is the figure behind the room’s name. In this room, he used to experiment with beer fermentation to improve the nation's tipple of choice. As you can see, each space in the Grubstreet Author has an identity based on its history, making it a rare wedding venue worth experiencing and writing home about.
