Located in the heart of the City and just moments away from several renowned London landmarks and churches, The Anthologist by Drake & Morgan is unbeatably placed for the ultimate urban wedding day.
Liverpool Street, Bank and St. Paul’s tube stations are each under a 10-minute walk from the venue, and Moorgate Station provides convenient access from Cambridge, Hertford and Peterborough. Rounding the corner onto Gresham Street, The Anthologist can be spotted immediately with its modern outdoor seating and year-round floral installations, meaning that no additional decorating needs be done to the exterior of this London wedding venue.
Stepping underneath the floral arches and through the front entrance, a large sprawling space with rustic parquet flooring and warm interiors of charcoal, red brick columns and a panelled wood bar draw you into the room. The high ceilings and naked pipes give the main event space an industrial edge, softened by the glow of colourful glass light fittings. Wedding ceremonies at The Anthologist are framed by a tall pair of sliding wrought iron doors to the left of the room and up to 150 guests can be invited to witness your marriage. Before walking up the aisle, the bridal party can change and prepare in the quirky split-level basement space conveniently located just below the ceremony.
Dining commences in the widest expanse of The Anthologist, where the head table can be positioned in natural daylight alongside a row of large windows. The rustic wooden floors continue throughout and give way to a grand white marble bar separating dining from the open plan kitchen. Three wedding packages offer a seasonal variety of modern British food and beverage options for the vibrant party-loving couple, with the top package including a generous 1-hour free flowing cocktail and canape reception to kickstart the celebrations. For dinner, The Anthologist seats between 200 and 350 wedding guests on their funky mismatched furniture complete with orange rocking chairs and heavy wooden tables.
Though if you’re toying with the idea of skipping dinner in favour of bowl foods, and grazing stations, the versatile space can accommodate a guestlist of 700 over both sides of the bar for a standing reception. Regardless of the event style, a lounging nook at one end of the venue makes for a sociable chill out zone between grooves on the dance floor.
