This wedding venue, brimming with genuine character and jovial service, has the feel of a private members club (for ladies and gentleman) and is home to some of the most original private rooms in the area.
It's not just the political and legal set who hide away in the original private spaces here. On three different levels, with an outside courtyard, these are wonderfully unique areas for tastings, weddings and all manner of partying.
Our Executive Chef Sean Davies sources fresh, seasonal and quality ingredients from a number of trusted local suppliers. Our wine list boasts a large number of rare vintages alongside an extensive range from Davy’s Wine Merchant cellars, and are all selected by James Davy and the wine buying team.
Capacity: - Private Rooms: 10 and 14 guests - Semi-Private: 22 and 34 seated, 70-80 standing - Exclusive Hire: 250-300 guests including courtyard
We had our wedding reception here last Saturday. The room we had was stunning, the food superb and the staff really attentive and friendly. The wine choice was very good and the staff helped us choose a selection of fine wines. All of our guests commented on how relaxed the atmosphere was. This is a gem of a restaurant tucked away near London Bridge. In a word - excellent !
Well, it is a big deal to look after your hosts on their big day, eh! Well all expectations were exceeded. The reception in 'the ovens' was just perfect.
Hannah and the team at The Boot & Flogger was very accommodating over the menu, when we underestimated the number of veggie guests, and advising us about the wine.
Everybody enjoyed the food and it was presented beautifully. We were last in the venue and everyone was saying ""the room and table is beautiful!"" And it was, the flowers (Debbie Western) were just amazing, cascading off the mantelpiece and along the table.
We were treated to perfect service, it was the icing on the (wedding) cake. So pleased we had the reception in the Boot And Flogger, which has been a favourite wine bar for many years.
A really cosy and great pub. Looks small from the outside but is very spacious with great atmosphere and extra bonus of a little beer garden. Food is very high standard for a pub, great wine selection and even cigars if that tickles your fancy.
I don't often give five stars... but this place is incredible. Excellent and attentive service, incredible wine selection... quiet, unknown, beautiful, classy, quality, clean, comfortable and romantic... I just love this place. It's everything you want an old school London wine den to be without any pretentiousness. I'm a fan.
We had the downstairs area completely to ourselves which meant that we had plenty of space. Food was very good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Well organised (pre-booked our meals) so they all came out together and were hot. Definitely recommend for a party or work function.
