Hello there, here’s a bit of background info on me, Lee Guthrie – I’m North East born and bread with a passion for photography, travel, art, music and of course football! I studied Fine Art at University and as part of my degree I worked extensively in both traditional and digital photography. I’ve worked in many art disciplines since and I’ve had my own artist’s studio. I’ve produced work in photography, sculpture, print and drawing and exhibited in a number of venues in the north of England. I believe this gives Green Honey a truly creative edge.
I’m lucky enough to have a loving supportive family behind me which includes my amazing fiancé Jen (who took this fine picture of me!) and we have a beautiful baby boy called Zac who is full of smiles and laughter but doesn’t like to sleep all of the time!
My first experience of the photography business was in 2003 when I started out as an assistant to the photographers at a local newspaper. After that, I taught English abroad for a year and travelled the world photographing and documenting places such as Laos, Vietnam, Mongolia, China and Russia. Since I arrived back I’ve been working at Colleges as a photography lecturer as well as carrying out commercial freelance work. I’ve been shooting wedding photographs since 2005, and I am proud to have set up and ran Green Honey Photography since 2009. I have also worked as a lecturer in photography for 5 years. Photography is a passion in my life and I hope I can share it by working with you.
