I love photography and have done so for many years. Weddings are my passion and favourite kind of event to photograph. I love to capture the genuine emotion and the special moments that occur during the day, some of which are often not seen by my brides and grooms until they view their photographs after the day.
Unlike some photographers I do not want to control the wedding and like to capture people naturally. Guests and couples are quite often unaware of the camera and that I have even taken their photograph.
I shoot in a modern photo journalistic style and normally from a distance, rather than forcing a camera in peoples faces and asking for “a cheesey smile” which can more often than not result in very unnatural and unflattering photos.
I like to take time to get to know my couples so that I can capture them at their best and also so they feel comfortable in front of me and the camera. I have built many great friendships over the years and feel honoured to have been part of so many couples special days.
Wedding photography is one of the most important reminders for a bride and groom to help them remember their special day after the event and for many years to come. My aim is for a couple to experience the emotions they felt on their special day in 10, 20 or 30 years time when they look back through their photos.
