After a massive dig in the ribs from ‘the other half’ I decided to revisit my ‘roots’, I had been stuck in the digital print arena for the last 10 years, not for one minute thinking that I would have enough space or time to get back into Letterpress. It’s amazing how you can make space and time when something starts to take over your life. So… I sold the kids and got rid of ‘the other half’ to make way for an Arab Crown Folio, only joking…. not about the Arab though.
I originally trained with a FAG Proofing Press during my Typography degree at Exeter school of Art and Design, then followed this up with digital design, and finally with an MSc in Interactive Multimedia. There were many people who were instrumental in my love of typography, only I didn’t realise it at the time so thank you Justin Beament and Adrian Smith.
“Where is the real beauty in environmentally unfriendly, mass produced stationary that you can get anywhere? We have lost the quality within our modern culture and are producing nothing remarkable. In setting up Letterpress Design we are hoping to fill the gap that is being left by mass production and providing quality, individual stationery products at competitive prices”.
